If the daily diet that we eat lacks the required quantity of iodine, we may experience health effects which are adverse which is due to iodine deficiency. Researchers have shown that if there is no sufficient intake of iodine daily, women tend to develop breast cancer. Research has shown that breast cancer due to lack of iodine is independent of the thyroid function. It has been found out that iodine promote cancer through the control of estrogen pathway. So iodine may play a very important role in adjuvant therapy which is used to treat women suffering from breast cancer.
