Meditation refers to the proper training of ideas on to a single subject whereas contemplation refers to regarding a single subject with utmost concentration to naturally bring about any knowledge associated with that subject. The best known form of dhyana or meditation or contemplation is the Concentration in Self Observation or the dhyana of liberation which means the revelation of the mind from slavery to the process of thinking or not thinking to the ultimate perception of truth. Another best known form of meditation is dynamic meditation as opposed to static meditation. The contrasting features are state of mobility and immobility in these 2 forms of meditation.
